Galangal is a yellow brown liquid distilled from dried roots of a reed like plant reaching a mature height of one meter. The plant is found mainly in Asia. In the Middle Ages its invigorating scent was used as a sexual stimulant and was considered magical as it reportedly attracted wealth, and warded off evil spirits.

In the 13th century it was used as a tea by the Turkic people and a stimulant in horses by the Arabs. In the east it was used as a snuff for nasal infections. The market for this oil is quite large and can be found in many kitchens for adding flavor to food.

Helps Tackle Nausea: Inhaling Galangal Essential Oil through steam vapors or using it via massages can be a good remedy for those who are suffering from motion sickness, nausea, or vomiting. It improves the gastrointestinal system and heals nausea and related issues.

Surfaces cleaner: In a glass spray bottle, add 30ml(1oz) alcohol, 40 drops Galangal Root, 30 drops Tea Tree and 10 drops Cinnamon Bark. Let sit for an hour before adding 60ml(2oz) of distilled water. Spray onto dirty surfaces and wipe clean.

– Do not use during the first three months of pregnancy and while breast-feeding, nor in children under 3 years.
– Keep out of reach of children.
– As a guideline, always test the application of your preparation, in the elbow, at least 48 hours before using it.
– Please do not use the essential oil directly on the skin or hair without blending it well with a suitable carrier oil.
